Description:
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a cybersecurity technology that has the potential to provide long-term network protection but has yet to be demonstrated to satisfy the security and functional requirements for government use. This project will endeavor to integrate a QKD Key Management System (QKD-KMS) into a simulated high-assurance network, identifying and closing security gaps in the QKD-KMS architecture that fail to meet high-assurance requirements. These simulations will provide metrics to help identify suitable high-assurance use cases with the final goal of demonstrating a proof-of-concept integration of the QKD-KMS system into a centralized key management facility.
