Description:
This project will see the hiring of a Masters of Science Graduate to develop new in-house capabilities with this firm. From seaweeds found in the coastal waters of Newfoundland, a bio-guided fractionation technique will be used to provide information on the groups of chemicals responsible for anticancer and antimicrobial bioactivity to establish a methodology to monitor and control the level of bioactivity in the prepared seaweed extract and the active ingredient. This project will develop Oceans Ltd. in-house capability for extract chemical profiling and product standardization.
