This project will enable the creation and optimization of deuterated PCLX-001 analogues designed to improve the therapeutic index of PCLX-001 and bring to market an improved compound: deuterated variants of drugs can resist metabolic degradation in vivo which can increase the half-life in a patient and, consequently, both i) enable a lower dose while maintaining a similar efficacy, and ii) decrease Cmax based side-effects.
