Point Surgical is developing a novel laser based mass spectrometry technology to address the problem of discordance in intra-surgical pathology by rapid molecular analysis of cancerous tissue. The diagnostic power of the prototype will be compared to the proof of concept results acquired with a more expensive and complex mass spectrometer using similar tissue types.
