Title:
Hydrodynamic Analysis of Floating Wind Structures in NL Area
Agreement Number:
985853
Agreement Value:
$50,000.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 4, 2022 - Sep 30, 2022
Description:
WESI is currently performing a large work scope with the goal to outline a conceptual design for the connection of floating wind turbines to a floating offshore drilling unit and the associated equipment required to transmit and distribute the power. The goal is to reduce engine run time, decreasing diesel usage and GHG emissions. It is expected that the fuel and cost savings will be significant enough to make this commercially viable.
The proposed project scope for IRAP is to study the hydrodynamic behavior of wind turbine floating structures as a means to determine the feasibility to support offshore wind turbines.
