This project will focus on using NuGrid wideband optical voltage and electric field sensors for novel applications in the electric power grid. NuGrid sensors will be installed for a pilot fast-time-domain fault location and/or protection application on high-voltage transmission lines. The emphasis will be on travelling-wave fault location on a mix of overhead lines and underground cables.
