Title:
Harnessing the full potential of incremental sheet forming through dedicated material characterization, adjusted simulation models
Agreement Number:
1003294
Agreement Value:
$517,000.00
Agreement Date:
Mar 15, 2023 - Mar 15, 2026
Description:
Improve the capability of the Double Sided Incremental Forming (DSIF)
process by focusing on a better understanding of material behavior under
distinctive ISF (Incremental Sheet Forming) process constraints (mainly
shear and compression), and on toolpath generation and process
monitoring aimed at enhancing formability, while minimizing geometrical
errors on formed parts, in order to harness the full potential of this promising
technology
Organization:
National Research Council Canada
Expected Results:
In the short term, anticipated outcomes will be strengthened collaborations across industry, academia, and government to support research excellence. In the medium term, anticipated outcomes will be the development of new and potentially disruptive technologies with collaborators. In the long term, find collaborative solutions to public policy challenges and create stronger innovation systems.
