Description:

Western Walleye Ltd. Is building the first recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) in Canada. There is strong market potential for high-value walleye products with the closure of the commercial walleye fishery in Alberta and other provinces. This project will investigate lowering the cost of aquaculture production of walleye, primarily as it relates to feeding costs. The project will also see the establishment of a walleye spawning operation to generate fresh fingerlings for grow out. Finally, we will begin to introduce our product to potential buyers to determine probable price points and quality requirements.
