Development of a Scalium honeycomb structure and optimization of the surface treatment process for Scalium coils.
Agreement Number:
1036030
Agreement Value:
$69,428.00
Agreement Date:
Oct 13, 2025 - May 29, 2026
Description:
This project aims to demonstrate the potential of Scalium™, a patented aluminum-scandium alloy, and its surface treatment, by designing a first-generation honeycomb structure that reduces mass by up to 15% compared to the reference alloy 7075. At the same time, it plans to develop an optimized process for the surface treatment of aluminum coils, with significant speed gains. The objective is to validate technical performance while improving industrial efficiency in order to accelerate the integration of Scalium™ and its surface treatment in real-world applications.
