This project aims to improve the operational efficiency of Acadian Hatchery while enhancing the quality and resilience of oyster spat produced for the Atlantic Canadian aquaculture industry. Through improvements in hatchery production systems, nutrition, nursery development, and data-driven monitoring, the project seeks to strengthen overall seed performance and support the development of oyster strains with increased resistance to the emerging parasites MSX and Dermo. By increasing the availability of high-quality hatchery seed, the project will contribute to the long-term sustainability and stability of oyster aquaculture in Atlantic Canada.
