Description:
This project aims to optimize water management for a 30-acre bell pepper facility. It includes a full baseline assessment of physical, chemical, and microbiological water quality in storage ponds, development of a control algorithm to blend multiple water sources, and engineering of a modular ultrafiltration (UF) system to reduce turbidity and suspended solids for irrigation and fertigation use. Water–nutrient interactions and corrosion are monitored to protect equipment integrity, while an IoT-based platform enables real-time data logging and automated corrective actions. A techno-economic model is developed to validate reductions in operational water sourcing costs.
