Title:
Advanced Hydrogen Sensor Testing for Battery Thermal Runaway: Validating Atomic Layer Disposition and Galvanic Sensor Performance
Agreement Number:
1043841
Agreement Value:
$75,000.00
Agreement Date:
May 4, 2026 - Aug 31, 2026
Description:
The project advances development of a fast, selective hydrogen sensor for early detection of lithium-ion battery thermal runaway, building on earlier proof-of-concept and improved ALD sensor/electronics work.
The project will validate the upgraded sensors in controlled cell-level tests and compare additional sensor variants to better characterize failure gases and precisely time venting/ignition events.
