This Project encourage First Nations' involvement in the planning, development and implementation of disaster and emergency management related policy, programming, and procedures. This Project will reinforce the importance of the emergency management and resiliency to First Nations, helps advocate for improved understanding of disaster risks in all sectors of society, and increases the focus on First Nations involvement.
Amendment: Duration of agreement / Award previously disclosed for the 4th Quarter of 2019-2020. Grant or contribution awarded and spanning more than one fiscal year. The agreement in the amount of $25,000.00 was terminated or cancelled on April 21, 2021.
The purpose is to increase the resiliency of Canadian communities to the risks and impacts of natural disasters, and to undertake and implement risk reduction analyses and actions. To ensure that wildfire response agencies are integrated with each other in order to implement an effective wildland fire response program, and, to increase the wildfire knowledge of agencies, communities and individuals, in order to create a culture of wildfire safety and to empower the public to understand risk.
