Description:

The objective of this project is to enhance Earthquake Early Warning coverage in areas of concern to the Proponent, improving warning times to these regions prior to the arrival of strong shaking from earthquakes, enabling protective actions to be taken by the Proponent's systens and staff.

Expected Results:

City of Ottawa will purchase, install and operate equipment for early earthquake warning (EEW) sensor stations at fifteen sites in the Ottawa area. It will impove EEW coverage and hence, alert times prior to the arrival of strong shaking from earthquakes in the Ottawa region, allowing people more time to take protective measures (Drop, Cover, and Hold on)
