Expected Results:

Creating more awareness and understanding of minerals and metals in Indigenous communities can contribute to ensuring the sustainable development of Canadian mining and mineral resources, which benefits all Canadians Engaging Economic Development Officers through mining webinars will build understanding amongst Indigenous communities of mineral exploration and mining activities and their capacity to participate in, and benefit from, economic development activities across the mineral development sequence, from exploration to mine closure and reclamation. Ultimately, this may lead to greater economic opportunities in the mining sector for Indigenous communities and more partnerships and/or agreements with industry stakeholders for the targeted regions of Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Ontario.
