Description:
The objective of this Project is to update the Canadian Auto Recyclers Environmental Code (CAREC) and the Audit Protocols to include vehicle electric references. As well as train auditors and deliver webinars so that the members of the Automotive Recyclers of Canada and others will learn how to process end-of-life electric vehicles, including the reuse of metal-rich parts and their eventual recycling.

Expected Results:
The Proponent will update the Canadian Auto Recyclers Environmental Code to include electric vehicles. It will also update the CAREC Audit Protocols to include electric vehicles. Finally, the Proponent will disseminate the CAREC and the Audit Protocols to the 350 members of the Automotive Recyclers of Canada and other players in the sector.
