Description:
The objective of this Project is to provide forest fire management services to provinces and territories through sharing of resources including: aircraft, equipment and fire suppression crews, and the sharing of information (e.g. community evacuations, weather forecasts, predicted fire occurrences). CIFFC will provide operational forest fire management services to participating agencies through: - Providing intelligence on the fire situation to all member agencies; - Coordinating movement of aircraft, personnel, equipment and specialty fire items such as communication networks and infrared line scanners across Canada; - Promoting developing, refining information management services to participating agencies that will improve forest fire management in Canada - Coordination and development of prevention and mitigation programs

Expected Results:
The Project will contribute to a more efficient fire management system for Canada, with particular emphasis on protecting the safety of Canadians, their property and communities. The Project will contribute to an efficient use of financial and human resources through sharing of wildfire management resources including but not limited to: aircraft, equipment and fire suppression crews, and the sharing of information (e.g. community evacuations, weather forecasts, predicted fire occurrences). This Project will support a whole-of-government approach to wildland fire risk reduction. The Project will inform national discussions on collective actions and investments needed to accelerate progress on prevention and mitigation.
