The purpose of the grant agreement is to support the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Long-term European Timber Trends and Prospects Research Project which will help NRCan gain knowledge thus helping Canada promote the use of sustainable forest management practices.

Expected Results:

The expected results are that the project will improve ECE member states to analyze the sustainable use of natural resources with the focus on wood energy. The aim is to enable countries to provide data on the use of forests and trees as important sustainable natural resources and to focus on the under reporting of forest removal in specific targeted countries in the ECE.
