Grants and Contributions:
These funds will contribute to the development of complementary indicators related to economic and social developments. This will allow for better tracking of the clean energy transition, which links closely to Canadian priorities such as the Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative, the Equal by 30 Campaign, and the department's People-Centred Transition work. Objectives include maintaining and enhancing the IEA Gender and Energy Data Explorer, developing new, replicable indicators of energy sector employment by gender, expanding data coverage on employment by energy sub-sector to a more granular level, and developing data on energy-related final household consumption expenditure levels for a cross-section of countries.
To encourage and accelerate innovation via the dissemination of information; to maintain a sustainable and responsible development of Canada's natural resources via participation into engagement activities; to share best practices at home and abroad on clean, sustainable, efficient technologies and practices related to natural resources; and, to assist in the protection of our natural resources from pests, fire and other hazards.
