Description:
This grant will support an IEA project, the purpose of which is to maintain and develop key indicators related to gender and energy as well as employment in the energy sector, with the aim of informing ongoing relevant government dialogues.

Expected Results:

These funds will contribute to the development of complementary indicators related to economic and social developments. This will allow for better tracking of the clean energy transition, which links closely to Canadian priorities such as the Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative, the Equal by 30 Campaign, and the department's People-Centred Transition work. Objectives include maintaining and enhancing the IEA Gender and Energy Data Explorer, developing new, replicable indicators of energy sector employment by gender, expanding data coverage on employment by energy sub-sector to a more granular level, and developing data on energy-related final household consumption expenditure levels for a cross-section of countries.
