The objective of the Project is to promote and deepen the efficacy of extractive sector transparency on a global scale. The objective of the 55th Board meeting is to execute an in-person board meeting as per requirement of the EITI Article of Association. The 2023 Global Conference will serve as a forum for implementing countries to share lessons learned, best practices and address future challenges for the EITI.

Benefits to Canada/Canadians: Providing Canadian companies, investors and the general public access to open data, and resource-based productions, trade and financial information of these countries among the Oil & Gas and Mining Sectors; Promoting access to open government, innovation within the nature resource sector and gender equality. Benefits to Stakeholders: The Proponent helps foster debate of how government revenues are spent, builds capacity for civil society to hold governments and companies accountable, and establishes permanent for a towards multi-stakeholder dialogue. This includes online publishing of natural resource inventories, and Beneficial Ownership disclosure.
