Description:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide funding to SIIT for the development and implementation of courses for Net-Zero buildings for post-secondary and professionals for all trades. The Project is centered on providing education and awareness initiatives to Indigenous communities with a goal of removing barriers to participation and increasing First Nation capacity for energy efficiency in residential housing.

" Increase a trained workforce in occupations related to maintenance, replacement, and expansion of the housing stock in Saskatchewan First Nations. " Develop and implement micro-credentials for Housing Managers and Community Leadership. This will aim to: o Provide learning and exposure opportunities for leadership and housing managers on new building materials and techniques. o Increase capacity to build strategy around Net Zero housing renovation and replacement in communities. o Provide awareness of green/Net-Zero focused inspection, renovation, and testing strategies. " Implement a Green Home Builder Program Pilot. This will aim to: o Revamp trades programming to include Net-Zero Ready Skills. o Familiarize those new to trades with green building materials and techniques . o Provide research in practice opportunities - students and housing management testing new materials.
