Benefits to Canada/Canadians: * Providing Canadian companies, investors and the general public access to open data, and resource-based productions, trade and financial information of these countries among the Oil & Gas and Mining Sectors. * Promoting access to open government, innovaiton within the natural resource sector and gender equality. Benefits to Stakeholders: The EITI is an international transparency standard in the oil, gas and mining sectors that seeks to increase transparency, deter corruption, and improve the governance of natural resources across the globe.
To encourage and accelerate innovation in the natural resources sectors; to assist in the protection of our natural resources; to encourage and develop new and more efficient techniques and technology for sustainable development of our natural resources; and, to provide for a better understanding and knowledge of our natural resources.
