Description:
The purpose of this agreement is to support work at the IEA to build on outcomes of Canada's High-Level Dialogue held during the 2024 IEA Ministerial. It will also help to lay a foundation for further G7 commitments during Canada's Presidency in 2025. The project will focus on gender equity, enhancing the participation of marginalized communities in the clean energy sector, Indigenous leadership, social inclusion and sustainable jobs.

Expected Results:

The grant will help link outcomes from the 2024 IEA Ministerial with Canada’s G7 Presidency to highlight the importance of inclusive and people-centred clean energy transitions, with a focus on the unique circumstances of Indigenous people, marginalized and underrepresented groups, and the skills, training and enabling conditions required for sustainable job creation and economic prosperity. The grant will also serve to deepen IEA’s focus on people-centred priorities, putting inclusivity, fairness, and affordability at the heart of clean energy policy discussions, as a key requirement for successful implementation of clean and secure energy transitions.
