Description:
The purpose of the grant will be to hep fund costs for the 2024 conference. The BC Seed Orchard Association (BCSOA) is a group of tree seed orchardists interested in the exchange of technical, operational, research and development information to promote good seed orchard management. The BCSOA is planning to host the next BCSOA Conference and Field Tour on June 18-19 at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney. The main objective is to collaborate and network with other tree seed orchards to improve business of sustaining high quality seed supply for the province of BC and Canada.

Expected Results:

The BCSOA 2024 Conference presents an opportunity for seed orchardists to come together and share knowledge and experience amongst themselves. The main objective is to collaborate and network with other tree seed orchards to improve our business of sustaining high quality seed supply for the province of BC and Canada. Conference topics and learnings will include Adapting to Climate Change, New Technologies for Practices, and Updates and Genetics. At the end, a report will be provided to NRCan that will provide a view on key performance indicators and outcome of the conference.
