Grants and Contributions:
The project is expected to advance the design and implementation of low-carbon building materials and strategies, while training highly qualified personnel (HQP) and disseminating knowledge to industry partners and government agencies. The project is also expected to mobilize industry stakeholders in favor of wood construction and influence building codes and standards.
Two or more departments or agencies are involved in the funding of and/or the awarding of a particular grant or contribution award. Grant or contribution awarded and spanning more than one fiscal year. The agreement in the amount of $500,000.00 was terminated or cancelled on June 16, 2025.
The objective of the GCWood program is to encourage the increased use of wood as a low carbon building material, which supports Canada’s efforts to decarbonize the built environment.
