The objective is to establish plots for real-time monitoring of flow and forest dynamics (growth, mortality, transpiration, carbon flux, leaf phenology, regeneration, etc.) in maple groves used for maple syrup production.

Expected Results:

Real-time data collected from experimental sites will be disseminated on free online platforms to reach the maple syrup industry and the general public. Also, the creation of this Research Chair marks a strategic advance for the maple syrup industry, providing it with scientific expertise that is essential to its sustainable development. By providing practitioners, planners, and managers with accurate data on the evolution of maple groves in a context of global change, it will enable informed decision-making that is adapted to the realities on the ground.
