Grants and Contributions:
The Project will promote the understanding and benefit of citizen science, collaboration between academic researchers and northern communities; help support local decision-makers in developing culturally relevant sustainable resource management practices based on both Indigenous knowledge and scientific data; strengthen trust and collaboration among all stakeholders, ensuring inclusive dialogue; and provide greater visibility of Imalirijiit, its data and its model of co-creation between academia and Indigenous communities.
To encourage and accelerate innovation via the dissemination of information; to maintain a sustainable and responsible development of Canada's natural resources via participation into engagement activities; to share best practices at home and abroad on clean, sustainable, efficient technologies and practices related to natural resources; and, to assist in the protection of our natural resources from pests, fire and other hazards.
