Increase in public awareness regarding the home label and ensuring it is seen by all parties engaged in real estate activities; this includes home energy scores and their benefits. Fosters industry-wide awareness of energy efficiency and home labelling benefits. Increased realtor understanding and adoption of home energy scores in property listings. Ensure that home energy scores are presented at a critical decision-making moment—when homes are bought and sold. Ensure that energy labelling is well understood and integrated into real estate transactions, making it a familiar and valuable tool. Engagement with Indigenous communities, recognizing their unique housing contexts, governance structures, and priorities for energy efficiency. Development of culturally appropriate educational materials to reflect the needs and perspectives of Indigenous communities. Equitable access to Indigenous homeowners and communities by reducing barriers and advancing shared goals of sustainability and energy efficiency. Transferable information to other stakeholders, such as retrofit contractors, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations.

The objective is to improve energy efficiency in Canada. Canadian energy users in the industrial, residential, commercial/institutional, and transportation sectors must have access to the information and qualified expertise required to make informed choices on energy consumption in the marketplace. Across all of these sectors, products that use energy and affect energy consumption will be a specific focus.
