Grants and Contributions:
Improved residential energy efficiency for Indigenous communities, reduction in barriers to energy-efficient housing for low-income and underserved communities, and an approximate 50% reduction in total annual energy consumption of the residential units. This Project will also provide practical and transferable lessons for Indigenous communities, municipalities, and housing providers across Canada, and provide valuable data on the performance of hybrid Air Source Heat Pump systems in cold climates.

The objective is to improve energy efficiency in Canada. Canadian energy users in the industrial, residential, commercial/institutional, and transportation sectors must have access to the information and qualified expertise required to make informed choices on energy consumption in the marketplace. Across all of these sectors, products that use energy and affect energy consumption will be a specific focus.
