Develop building interventions suited for remote and under-resourced communities, that will reduce barriers including distrust of colonial impacts, and remoteness of communities and limited technical capacity to participate in research and educational collaborations. The creation of Net-Zero building design packages, a two-part database and multi-criteria, decision-making tool for optimized building material selection, and by providing local community training opportunities for Net-Zero building in the future. Build capacity investments in Indigenous communities across Canada. Demonstration of plans for Net-Zero ready residential buildings. Improved housing conditions and increased energy efficiency for Indigenous communities. Create network-building that will contribute to the success of future energy-efficiency projects.

The objective is to improve energy efficiency in Canada. Canadian energy users in the industrial, residential, commercial/institutional, and transportation sectors must have access to the information and qualified expertise required to make informed choices on energy consumption in the marketplace. Across all of these sectors, products that use energy and affect energy consumption will be a specific focus.
