Program Purpose:
The objective/purpose of this project is to fund capital improvements at the Fortress Specialty Cellulose Inc. pulp and paper mill in Thurso, Quebec, that will increase the mill's generation of renewable energy, increase the efficiency of their equipment while also decreasing Greenhouse gas and particulate emissions from the present level released in the mill processes. This capital improvement includes the installation of a lime mud filter, vacuum pump, long flow economizer, ductwork and air register.
