Program Purpose:

The purpose of the project is to demonstrate the use of 500 kWh Lithium-ion battery storage to both the generating capability of 250 KW photovoltaic panels and the charging stations for electric vehicles across a distribution network. The project will demonstrate a number of innovative technologies to increase renewable energy on the electricity system; smooth the variability of intermittent generation sources and provide reliable back-up power through the use of energy storage; protect the grid from system impacts; and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
