Program Purpose:

The Project aims to fulfill two principal goals: 1) Continuing the work that the Lac-Saint-Jean Model Forest has been engaged in since 2007, more specifically the creation of a forestry culture based on teamwork and innovation. 2) Putting in place means for the Project to both: Become self-sufficient and financially independent from the Forest Communities Program; Ensure resiliency of the area's forest based communities, based on innovation and partnerships, as well as the exchange of knowledge with other Canadian Model Forests and any other interested forest sector player.
