The purpose of this project is to increase transparency in financial transactions between governments in resource-rich developing countries and companies operating in the extractives sector. EITI's principles of transparency and accountability are in line with Canada's official development effectiveness agenda, including strategies to work with the private sector to overcome common development challenges. This is a key deliverable in the Government of Canada's Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy for the international extractives sector, Building the Canadian Advantage.
