The University of Calgary and University of Laval jointly hosted a successful one-week summer program on the Geopolitics of Energy & Natural Resources with the them of Energy Transitions on May 13-17, 2019 in Calgary. By the end of the program, students were able to grasp the basic concepts of a geopolitical analysis of natural resources and better understand the changes in the international environment, their consequences for North America, and how Canadian interests will be affected. The course featured lectures from speakers across Canada, site visits and a simulated poilicy exercise.
To encourage and accelerate innovation via the dissemination of information; to maintain a sustainable and responsible development of Canada's natural resources via participation into engagement activities; to share best practices at home and abroad on clean, sustainable, efficient technologies and practices related to natural resources; and, to assist in the protection of our natural resources from pests, fire and other hazards.
