Description:
The purpose of this agreement is to support the implementation of two activities under the ITTO 2024-2025 Biennial Work Programme. The first activity involves revising and updating the ITTO biodiversity-related guidelines as part of the collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The second activity involves conducting statistical capacity building workshops in producer member countries.

Expected Results:
As a result of this project, revised technical guidance will assist in implementation of projects that contribute to the achievement of common goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. In addition, improved data collection is expected to produce meaningful statistics on production and trade of tropical primary and secondary wood products, which will help major stakeholders and governments (in South America) to make sound environmental decisions.
