Grants and Contributions:
The FPBC forestry conference provides a low-cost, easy-access opportunity for forest professionals in all regions of BC to access and interact with thought leaders and experts in forest policy, research, and technical on-the-ground aspects of forestry. The conference allows participating forest professionals to select specific areas of learning to enhance their competence, including areas outside the specific practice of forestry such wildfire, LiDAR, visual resource management, climate change adaptation, wildlife habitat, and mental health in the workplace. Deliverables include identifying topics and building a conference program; recruiting speakers who will provide forest professionals with usable learning outcomes; planning and hosting an online annual general meeting; recruiting, engaging, and recognizing sponsors and exhibitors online; providing online networking opportunities; producing and disseminating marketing collateral; providing online access to recordings of all conference sessions; and creation of a post-event feature in BC Forest Professional magazine summarizing the event and acknowledging all sponsors and exhibitors.
