Description:
The objective of this project is to support the implementation of Heiltsuk's Community Energy Plan by undertaking the design and construction of a Passive House pilot in Bella Bella, Heiltsuk Territory in British Columbia, which will be used as a demonstration home, to later be replicated within other Indigenous communities in Canada. The project will also support the Energy Plan by improving the building envelope of one (1) existing home.

Expected Results:
The proponent will undertake a Passive House pilot by designing and developing a kit and constructing one (1) Passive House. The proponent will also complete one (1) exterior building envelope renovation, based on a previous energy assessment, to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs for community members, and serve as a model for healthier homes in the future.
