Increased awareness, understanding, and use of Virtual Home Label (VHL) information among homeowners, retrofit stakeholders, community partners, municipal staff, and under-resourced communities. Improved accessibility and transparency of home energy performance information, enabling households to make informed decisions about energy efficiency upgrades and retrofits. Reduced barriers to energy-efficient retrofits, particularly for under-resourced communities, supporting more equitable participation in Toronto’s transition to net-zero housing. Enhanced market readiness and capacity through strengthened collaboration among contractors, program partners, municipalities, and community organizations, supported by the development of a best-practices guide. Increased adoption of energy-efficient retrofit measures, contributing to improved energy performance, lower energy costs, and greater climate resilience across Toronto’s housing stock.
Grant or contribution awarded and spanning more than one fiscal year.
The objective is to improve energy efficiency in Canada. Canadian energy users in the industrial, residential, commercial/institutional, and transportation sectors must have access to the information and qualified expertise required to make informed choices on energy consumption in the marketplace. Across all of these sectors, products that use energy and affect energy consumption will be a specific focus.
