Program Purpose:
The objective/purpose of this project is to fund capital improvements at the Tolko Industries Ltd. pulp mill in The Pas, Manitoba, that will improve the energy efficiency of the mill and increase the generation of renewable energy, specifically by producing more steam from the burning of black liquor. The reduction in fossil fuel consumption will reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by the mill. This capital improvement includes the installation of a stacked air system (tertiary air system) and power boiler burners.
