Program Purpose:

The need for hyperspectral remote sensing research and development in support of the Alberta oilsands was identified, following a Workshop on Earth Observation Monitoring of the Oil Sands in March 2011. The Departmental MOU with the University of Victoria regarding research and the application of remote sensing techniques and technologies was to be leveraged to meet this need.
