Program Purpose:

The objective/purpose of this research project is to develop and validate Energy Yield test standards for Photovoltaic Modules, assess the validity of the International Electrotechnical Commission 61853 Power and Energy Rating methodology, and provide significant contributions to the knowledge gap associated with Photovoltaic Power and Energy Yield data from real field conditions in the Canadian environment. The intent is to have a more accurate and representative power and energy rating to modules that can be applied to a range of environmental conditions, and utilized for improved energy yield predictions and integration of renewables back to the grid.
