Program Purpose:

The long-term objective for the second year of this Project is to build on outcomes achieved with support from 2011-12 Aboriginal Forestry Initiative funding. The project will continue working towards building economic and social stability to eventually fully utilize their wood allocation in the Armstrong Forest. Financial contributions for the Project will be to provide support toward the future pre-construction/operational stage. Each stage of the project will create benefits leading to the primary objective to create long-term sustainable, meaningful employment and shift the community and surrounding area from high-cost diesel powered electrical generation to more environmentally acceptable sustainable biomass co-generation.
