Program Purpose:
Battery function and durability is significantly compromised in cold climate conditions such as those encountered during Canadian winters. The objective of this project is to develop and integrate electric surface heaters directly into battery cooling heat exchangers, which will improve the battery system performance of pure electric and plug-in electric vehicles when operating in low temperature.
