Program Purpose:

This project focuses on the development of forestry feedstock supply for the production of bioenergy. It will combine forest inventory data and biomass harvesting trials to develop a Biomass Opportunity and Supply (BiOS) model that will be able to estimate both the availability and recovery of biomass in uneven-aged forests of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence (GLSL) region. This model will be made available as part of FPInterface, a decision support tool for simulating the supply chain of forest operations.
