Program Purpose:
A consortium of Maritime utilities will focus on the integration of smart grid technologies, customer electrical usage and intermittent wind energy in a region with potentially significant renewable power capacity. The demonstration project will determine if electric load control of commercial and residential customers can provide for more economical integration of wind power rather than building expensive central generating facilities.
