Coaxial cavity filters, for RF front-ends operating in the 108-138 MHz band, selectively suppress interferingx000D
signals and sideband noise of co-located transmitters on closely spaced receivers thus, protecting thex000D
communications from interference, false information, or noise. Commercially available devices arex000D
mechanically tuned. This project introduces a new electrical-based auto-tuned coaxial filter, which enables anx000D
efficient and automatic filtering functionality. The aim is to take advantage of deployed photoconductivex000D
polymers that change their properties within the cavity filter in the presence of light; hence, switching theirx000D
status from dielectrics to good conductors. The designed high-Q prototype should meet desired specificationsx000D
such as a temperature variation handling from -10 to +60 oC and an insertion loss less than 3 dB.
