Program Purpose:

Currently, the commonly used oil displacement agent utilizes synthetic polymers, the viscosity of which, however, descends drastically with the increase of temperature and salinity. This research focuses on combining branched macromolecules with linear hydrophobically associating polymer that can improve the anti-shearing performance, temperature tolerance, and salt tolerance of the polymer aqueous solution. x000D
We propose a hyperbranched dendritic shape polymer because of unique properties such as relatively low cost, multiple functional groups, a large area of coverage and eco-friendliness compared to linear polymers. This will be one of a novel polymeric surfactant for oil recovery application.x000D
