Program Purpose:

ManagingLife is a company that supports a web-based app, called Manage My Pain, that is used to helpx000D
individuals with chronic pain record their pain experiences. In an NSERC Engage project with the company,x000D
we have developed a statistical framework (using key record characteristics) to statistically define userx000D
engagement with the app. Our analysis identified five groups (or clusters) of user engagement and our work hasx000D
been used to support a collaborative effort in pain research. The current project extends our statisticalx000D
framework to a more in-depth study of the longitudinal data that will be used to statistically define significantx000D
increases or decreases in pain index data. The analysis will include methods that allow for imputation ofx000D
missing data, and comparisons of longitudinal data sets that have vary by app use longevity, number of records,x000D
and frequency of use. ManagingLife will use the analytical framework to aid patients in understanding theirx000D
pain experience.
