Engage Grants for Universities
Program Purpose:

Our research group is manufacturing groundbreaking systems to convert air-captured carbon dioxide (CO2)x000D
into useful products. Rising CO2 levels are one of the major causes of climate change, and a significantx000D
reduction in carbon emissions is crucial to avoiding major economic and environmental catastrophe. Carbonx000D
Engineering (Squamish, BC) is commercializing systems to remove CO2 directly from the atmosphere on ax000D
multi-tonne scale. We will evaluate the feasibility of propagating a carbon value chain through electrocatalyticx000D
reduction of CO2 into fuel and material precursors with great economic value. Technology resulting from thisx000D
collaboration has the potential for deep penetration into the $1 trillion-dollar market that is CO2 utilization,x000D
positioning both CE and Canada as global leaders in transformative clean technology. This project enables usx000D
to fully understand the technical challenges of CO2 capture-conversion integration, and develop our technologyx000D
accordingly.
